Project Hemera, North London

Project Hemera consisted on the full refurbishment of a big semidetached house in North London. An existing 2 storey rear extension was demolished and a new full width extension was built instead at lower ground floor and a study space in the upper ground floor.
The full lower ground floor was refurbished to relocate the kitchen towards the garden and create a Tv room for the family at the front. 
The rear garden was fully redesigned by a Landscape Designer, dividing it in different zones and ambiens. 
Our client, being a painter artist, was bold with her choice of colours and we are very pleased of the final result and the personality that brings to the project.

Project Hornbeam

A new build was designed in an end of terrace garden plot in Putney, London
The new house comprises two floors, a rendered lower ground floor compromising the living areas
and access to a generous terrace and a top floor raised timber pavilion floor compromising 2
bedrooms and a family bathroom and a generous garden
There were numerous constraints such as the location, street view and protected trees which
defined the massing and overall design of this beautiful house.

The client met CCASA Architects in the open house where Project Hackney was being opened to the public.
The client was impressed with what was able to be achieved on a small space and how beautiful the side extension and kitchen was done at Project Hackney. They loved the use of plywood due the warm texture and beautiful finish of the material and they wanted to recreate that on their home.
Project escape was a refurbishment of a two storey terraced house with a side extension and loft conversion.
After Open House and taking reference from Project hackney, the use of exposed birch plywood throughout the property was taken as a design parameter when working in the project. To compliment this material, it was agreed to use two other materials that work well in terms of texture and warm colour: Steel Corten and yellow London stock brickwork.
On the back elevation, Steel Corten was used for all areas of the ground floor and the new side extension. The clever way of the design emphasizes the London stock brickwork at first floor which seems to be floating. It is clearly defined what was the ground floor intervention and what was left as original on the first floor.
Internally, the London stock brick is exposed in the kitchen area in front of a plywood kitchen. The reveal of a generous rooflight in this area is also done with plywood which ties well with the design of the space.
At ground floor all rooms have been opened, connecting the spaces and allowing views throughout the property.
The main rooms of the property were kept with traditional features with the inclusion of ceiling roses, cornices, architraves and skirtings. In the living room, the new fireplace was cladded with patterned tiles and a nice wood shelf, combining modern with traditional styles. It is important to note that this item was designed by the client and works very well with the space.
All secondary rooms such as bathrooms and new rooms like kitchen and loft had a more contemporary design approach.
Our client, being a newly successful fashion designer, needed additional space  for her creations. The new loft, with its views to London was perfect for that. Big roof light lights and a dormer with generous windows allows for natural light into her new studio.
Throughout views and natural light is a constant design feature by CCASA Architects.  Following these, for the new en-suite bathroom on the second floor was proposed with a new internal window towards the stair. The new internal window allows for views to London through the dormer window in the stairs while still allowing privacy for the use of this bathroom. This little nice new window has been one of the most praised design features designed in the property by the client.
Finally, the colour scheme was also an important design feature throughout the project.
It was proposed to separate all woodwork with floor and ceiling colours. Having skirtings, doors and architraves painted in a different tone, emphasizes and enhances the room making them more elegant.
Certain walls were painted with bright colours to make features of these. As an example, the back wall on the TV room area is painted on a beautiful dark blue colour while the main bedroom has been painted in a dark pink up to dado rail height.

Project Corten, Brixton

Project Escape, East London

The project consisted on the refurbishment of a two storey end of terrace house.
A very simple, but effective new side extension was created to allow for a generous kitchen looking towards a beautiful garden. New roof lights and big openings flood the property with day light. New kitchen, bathrooms and rooms were created to the client's needs.

Project Garden

Project Garden is the result of the refurbishment of a ground floor flat that includes a wrap-around extension in South London.
The client made great emphasis on bringing natural light into the property and having a great connection to the existing garden.
An open plan kitchen, dining and living room conforms to the new wrap-around extension. Numerous rooflights were added to the scheme. It was proposed to expose the new timber joists in this area which were located under the new rooflights, offered visual privacy from above and diffused the natural light giving very interesting lighting into the new space.
A small patio was created to allow for additional natural light and ventilation to all adjacent roofs: kitchen, bathroom and main bedroom.
A new configuration for the bathroom allowed a view from the garden as soon as the client opened their main entrance door. A big pocket door separates the corridor space from the living room, allowing for these longitudinal views when the pocket door is open.
The use of new crittal doors and windows, concrete finish in the kitchen worktop and an exposed round column in the main open area, accentuated the client’s aspirations for an industrial-chic look. 


Project Garden, Herne Hill

Project Hackney P1

A small side extension was designed to this 2 bedroom garden flat in Hackney.
The existing space was facing North and was very dark. CCASA Architects proposed a fully glazed side extension that could form part of the garden when the sliding doors where opened. Therefore, the kitchen area which was a key area of the client, is placed in this space for the full enjoyment of the owners.

CCASA Architects was involved on the renovation and refurbishment of the top floor flat on a 5 storey building in Chelsea. We open up as much as we could all the spaces creating a single open plan kitchen, living and dining room. A new extension on the back allowed for a new generous family bathroom.

Project Aery

The project consists of a new mansard roof extension on an existing 1-bedroom flat which had a big roof terrace in Notting Hill, London.
The addition of a high-end mansard roof allowed for an additional generous bedroom and en-suite bathroom. The owner was keen to retain some outdoor space and a well proportionate terrace was allowed at roof level.
The existing flat was fully refurbished with the inclusion of a new designed stair, a new kitchen and a new family bathroom.

Project Aery, Notting Hill

CCASA Architects was involved on the latest stages of the project. 
The project had been halted due issues with the previous design team. A new team was set up, and we managed to complete the project on time and cost. 
CCASA Architects had the opportunity to specify some of the final finishes and make sure that site works run smoothly and without complications. 
The result is fabulous!


Project Merope, Primrose Hill

Project Phoenix, Herne Hill

Project Phoenix is the result of a new wrap-around extension in a terraced house in South London.

The client aimed to have a bigger kitchen and informal dining area with great connection to the rear garden. As the new extension occupied a big area, it was imperative for the client for the space to be bright and airy.

New rooflights were added to the scheme and with full height doors to both the patio and the rear garden, flooded the space with natural light.

The inclusion of bright colours into the scheme with a strong orange splashback and a yellow exposed column, gives personality to the project and contrasts with the muted colours for the walls and kitchen cabinets.

A small patio was created to allow for additional natural light and ventilation to all adjacent roofs: kitchen, new guest toilet and living room. The client can’t wait for Christmas to have their Christmas tree located in this area!

Welcome to Project Terracotta, our inaugural international venture, where we embarked on a transformative journey to rejuvenate a compact apartment nestled in the heart of Paris's 20th Arrondissement. The existing apartment, prior to our intervention, presented a dimly lit ambiance with a cramped and inefficient bathroom.
Our skilled team implemented subtle yet impactful modifications to optimize the space. One notable enhancement was the expansion of the bathroom, now featuring a separate shower unit, along with the addition of a convenient utility cupboard accessible from the corridor.
One of the unique aspects of this project was the client's decision to grant us creative freedom in selecting the colour palette. Leveraging this opportunity, we strategically employed various hues to delineate distinct areas and create an atmosphere of cosy elegance throughout the apartment.
In the open-concept kitchen and living room, a captivating terracotta palette graces the walls and ceilings, artfully distinguishing the living area from the kitchen and dining spaces. This clever design choice not only adds visual depth but also imbues a sense of spaciousness to the room.
Our meticulous attention to detail extended to incorporating subtle elements such as wood panelling and wallpaper, which seamlessly infused the charm of Parisian style into this petite apartment.
