Project Phoenix, Herne Hill

Project Phoenix is the result of a new wrap-around extension in a terraced house in South London.

The client aimed to have a bigger kitchen and informal dining area with great connection to the rear garden. As the new extension occupied a big area, it was imperative for the client for the space to be bright and airy.

New rooflights were added to the scheme and with full height doors to both the patio and the rear garden, flooded the space with natural light.

The inclusion of bright colours into the scheme with a strong orange splashback and a yellow exposed column, gives personality to the project and contrasts with the muted colours for the walls and kitchen cabinets.

A small patio was created to allow for additional natural light and ventilation to all adjacent roofs: kitchen, new guest toilet and living room. The client can’t wait for Christmas to have their Christmas tree located in this area!
